Mortgage Payment Cover

Mortgage repayment insurance sounds like a great idea. If life should take an unexpected turn, at least you'll know your mortgage payments are covered and you'll still have a roof over your head.

Mortgage payment cover works along similar lines to accident, sickness and unemployment (ASU) insurance but, instead of giving you a monthly income, it covers just your mortgage repayments.

That's not always how it goes however. Too often, people find themselves excluded from mortgage payment cover because they fall foul of the terms and conditions of the policy.

There are many reasons why the small print could rule you out. If illness has put a stop to your earning power, you might find certain medical conditions exclude you from claiming on your mortgage payment insurance. Strict rules about redundancy apply. Self employed people may be forced to cease trading altogether before they can make a claim.

But wasn't it up to you to understand the small print? Not necessarily. If any of these conditions were not made clear to you when you were sold mortgage payment cover, you may have a claim for mis-sold payment protection. If you have, we can help.
